Inspired by Justin Silangs Na’vi portrait, I decided to do a couple of photoshop projects myself! The first is a pseudo HDR photo. “Pseudo”, because I did not actually take multiple pictures at different exposures. The second is a portrait picture done in a typographic style, the picture explains the definition. Both were done by following tutorials found anywhere online.

Fresh off the Beat Freestyle

Fresh off the Beat was asked by one of the presidential candidates at UCF to do a freestyle for them in front of the student union. The routines that we came up with were all made pretty last minute. Overall it was pretty fun and we got a pretty good crowd. Here are the two routines we came up with: (don’t forget to watch it in HD!)

Look at what came in the mail today!

This type of toy is from a series called Nendoroids. They are characterized by oversized heads and tiny bodies making them very “kawaii” or cute. Produced by Good Smile company.

Fans of the series will immediately recognize this classic character. Those of you who are not familiar, Deathnote is an anime or Japanese cartoon. The story is based around a notebook that has special “death-dealing” powers; it’s a must watch! “L” is one of the main characters and is probably one of my favorite anime characters of all time.

If I weren’t a Digital Media major I could see myself getting into architecture. I have always had an interest in contemporary/modern style architecture and interior design. In fact, the main reason why I buy The Sims series of video games is to build houses!

A great place to check out contemporary style homes and interiors is on the contemporist. I originally saw this site on Justin Silang’s tumblr (who is also one of the founders and contributors to laterisers.com!). I’d like to share a couple of houses I have designed on The Sims 3 and Google Sketchup.

The house above was done pretty quickly on Google Sketchup. Google Sketchup is program which is mainly used for developers to create 3d structures for Google Earth. Originally introduced to me by Tracy Grady, the program is awesome and simple to use. This is the first house I’ve done and I hope to do at least one per week! I am still learning the program but I already like it better than The Sims. Unlike The Sims 3, with Sketchup, one is only limited by his or her imagination.

Introducing Office 2010

Those who don’t have the current version of Microsoft’s Office 2007 can copp the beta version of Office 2010 for the low price of free.99. Keep in mind it is still a beta– but is still better than nothing. Looking forward to the new version of OneNote which is really effective if you like taking notes for class on your laptop instead of writing with traditional pen and paper.

Vinyl Toys

I have always had an interest in vinyl toys like the figures Kid Robot puts out. Always wanted to design one myself but never thought I had the skill. A few days ago I was at Urban Outfitters and found a Munny, but it was shaped like a cat! I had to pick it up.

This is my first time designing one so don’t be too critical! haha

Apparently the name of the toy is "Trikky" as apposed to the ones you normally see aka "Munny"

The first stages. Drew everything on with a pencil.

Chillen with some of my other desktop companions.

Started to outline the pencil drawings with sharpie paint.

Had to tape off some areas to keep the paint off unwanted surfaces

Finished product! nothing too crazy.

Unfortunately, mine still doesn't compare to Andrew's and Sheri's. From left to right: Andrew's, mine, Sheri's.
